  • Warmed up with our rap, Jerome won again. I passed out CDs and copies of the words.
  • We filmed Act I scene I of our play, with Thomas as Joe, Adam as Mr. Zinklehoft, McKinley as Agent M and Kasema, Maddy, Nicholas & Jerome as the students. We filmed in the library.
  • Afterwords most of the students went home and we played Dr. Knowledge

K-2nd class 34

  • Warmed up with everyone saying our tongue twister, no prompts.
  • Taught the "turtle" yoga pose, and filmed students going in and out of "turtle".
  • We went through the entire play in the circle. We keep reviewing the order in which the animals enter the play.
  • We played Nightmare where all the students went to sleep, and one of them got tapped on the head with a monster card. That student became the Nightmare Monster and let out a huge roar. The other students woke up when they heard this roar and ran to the other side of the gym to the mats for safety while the monster tagged as many of the students as they could before they reached the mats. The first student they tagged got to hold the monster card and choose a new monster for the next round.

3rd-6th class 34

  • Warmed up with the rap. Jerome won. They really need the CDs so they can go home and practice, and I need to learn it so I can set a good example.
  • We discussed the difficulty of putting on a play with the time and people available and everyone agreed that to do a movie was probably the best option.
  • We took a field trip to look for locations for their movie. I think for the sake of continuity it will be best to use the library.
  • We read through Act I scene I of the play with the kids filling in for the people who weren't there.
  • We played Stinky Cheese. I wasn't sure the big kids would get into this, but they really did. They wanted to keep playing and even made their parents wait.

K-2nd class 33

  • Warm-ups--tongue twister, Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes.
  • We had some discipline issues but managed to run through the entire play. Malik is doing real good being elephant captian. Maybe I can make captains for the other groups on animals.
  • We played: Stinky Cheese: all of the students were mice, except one who was given a kitty headband and sent out of the room to be the cat. A small piece of play "cheese" was give to one of the mice. The cat was then invited back in the room. The mice were allowed to pass the cheese amongst themselves, but they must keep it from the cat. Once the cat tagged a mouse who had the cheese, the mouse was out and became the new cat.

  • Warmed up with an activity: I Wish I had a Million Dollars...
  • Worked on MIB rap. Kaseema got a treat because she had knew more of it than anyone else.
  • There were a lot of students missing today, so we did not rehearse MIB but played Dr. Knowledge instead.
  • I had the students run around like maniacs to get there energy out. It actually worked quite nice.

  • Warmed up with "Make a Wish" activity. Students got to make a wish on the magic nickle and were called upon to remember what the other student's wishes were.
  • We went through the play again. Jason will now be our narrator. He got to use the narrator's hat.
  • Brandon got a special treat for listening so carefully and following directions. I will try to keep treats on hand for special rewards for really good students. It seemed to work this time. Clapping is getting a little old.

k-2nd class 29

  • Warm-ups--new tongue twister! We'll work on this for a while:

To sit in solemn silence on a dull dark dock

In a pestilential prison under life long lock.

Awaiting the sensation of a short sharp shock

From a cheap and chippy chopper on a big black block.

  • We learned the ASL sign for "cookie" and talked about our favorite cookies.
  • We ran through our show. Everyone did a great job in the last scene when we have to hush as Big Lion roars.
  • We did the limbo for the rest of the class.
